By extending NEC Housing to asset management, Sutton is giving teams everything they need to deliver safer homes and a great service.
Sutton Housing Partnership has used NEC Housing since 2002. Their ‘New Deal’
programme, launched in 2018, aims to help their housing managers to build better
relationships with residents.
They also wanted to improve safety and compliance by showing that risks had been
identified and resolved in a timely manner.
To achieve both goals, it was clear that housing managers needed a 360-degree view of
residents and properties. Yet that couldn’t be delivered with a separate asset management
system.
Sutton went live with NEC Housing Assets in December 2020 and moved into the cloud at the same time. For Jason, it was a seamless process with clear benefits.
“NEC’s consultants were outstanding, particularly when it came to risk and compliance. They showed us how to uncover and keep hold of the ‘Golden Thread’, giving us an instant view of concerns and related activity.”
With everything in NEC Housing, data stays visible at all times. Housing managers can now see what only the asset team could see before, like when a kitchen is due to be replaced.
The ‘one system’ approach extends to Sutton’s contractors, who are completing safety checks for fire risk and legionella using the NEC Go-Mobile app. This means everything is visible for anyone that needs it, a process that will soon extend to Asbestos checks too.
Jason believes that having everything in one place has sparked people’s imagination. Like automating more tasks related to Stock Condition Surveys and Repairs:
“When you’re not fighting for answers, you can think about doing things differently. NEC Housing is giving us the time and space to plan for improvements.”
